STEP 1
CROSS STITCHES are made in two steps, using two strands of thread. Start by holding 3cm of
thread under the fabric, and coming up from underneath, stitch from left bottom corner to
right top corner repeat to complete the row. |
|
STEP 2
Stitch from right bottom corner to left top corner, repeat to complete the row of cross
stitches. Complete the colour. To end the thread off, run the needle under a few stitches,
and clip. |

BACKSTITCH
Backstitch is used to enhance the work and is stitched last. Using a single stitch strand
of thread and starting underneath the fabric, bring the needle up one stitch away from the
start, insert needle at start and up again 1 stitch away from the first backstitch.
COntinue until complete. |

FRENCH KNOTS
French knots are made by twisting the thread two or three times around the needle and
inserting the needle one fabric thread to the left. Gently tighten the twists on the
needle. While holding the thread firmly against the fabric, pull the needle through to the
back without allowing the twists to unwind. |
